Introducing the Ideal Formaldehyde Detectors

By Anna Butler | August 25, 2016

Formaldehyde Detection-4

Formaldehyde (FAH) is a colourless, flammable gas with a strong, pungent odour. It is widely used in hospitals, disinfectants, carpet and furniture glues, as well as a number of other products. FAH is used in liquid form as a water and methanol solution called Formalin, which has a clear to milky appearance, and in solid form as a white powder called Para-formaldehyde. Exposure to formaldehyde causes irritation of the eyes, nose and bronchial tubes, while high exposure can even cause death.

In order to protect the safety of workers both short and long term, a Formaldehyde detector is the ideal solution. We offer two portable gas detectors designed to detect Formaldehyde; The FP-31 and the AQ-Expert.

FP-31 | Single Gas Detector

E5500 (5)The E5500 Industrial Flue Gas Combustion and Emissions Analyser is a powerful and advanced portable gas analyser, designed for professional use with the latest features and technology. It allows for a complete analysis of flue gas, combustion processes and gas emissions for Boiler, Engine, Furnace, and other Combustion Applications.
Gas Sensors: Up to 5 sensors can be used with the E5500, which are electrochemical sensors and can include a low level NOx sensors with a resolution of 0.1 ppm.
Temperature Measurements: Flue gas and air temperature, as well as the differential temperature are standard features. The differential temperature is used as part of the efficiency calculation.
Draft, Pressure, & Velocity: An internal pressure sensor allows the analyser to measure pressure and stack draft. With two pressure inputs, a differential pressure can also be measured. Gas velocity can be measured using the differential pressure and an optional Pitot tube.
Rotating Display with Zoom: The LCD display screen has a back light and can be rotated for greater ease and convenience. The parameters displayed can be zoomed in to view from a distance or zoomed out to display more parameters at once on the display screen.
Calibration: The analyser comes standard with a complete factory calibration. The analyser can easily be recalibrated with span gas cylinders. Recalibration is recommended at least once each year to ensure analyser accuracy.
Real time software: The E5500 comes with the latest EGAS software package which allows the user to save and graph data in real time in the field with a laptop computer, or on a PC in the office or laboratory. The E5500 also has Bluetooth as well as through a USB interface and cable. A Bluetooth module for a computer is supplied as standard with every E5500. Control Equipment helps achieve Green Design Rating

By Anna Butler | March 15, 2012

Tags: , ,

Control Equipment recently installed a number of Carbon Monoxide and Nitrogen Dioxide sensors into a Brisbane bus depot, which provides bus parking, maintenance and refueling services for buses.  The facility was designed and constructed to the highest environmental standards, and the inclusion of these sensors has assisted in it becoming the first industrial building in Australia to achieve a five-star green design rating, as assessed by the Green Building Council of Australia.  The sensors are wired into our Beacon range of controllers, which are in turn connected to the facility’s BMS system.  With buses constantly coming and going, the system will alert workers to a rise in gas levels, ensuring that the bus depot is properly ventilated and the safety of both equipment and personnel is maintained.

Brisbane Flooding

By susan | August 11, 2011

Tags: ,

During the recent Brisbane floods a large number of underground car parks suffered severe damage, causing major disruptions to many of the city’s office workers.  In many instances firms had to establish temporary offices across the city.

Not only did the water and sludge need to be pumped out, but repairs also needed to be made to lifts and electrical systems.  One major repair job that needed to be undertaken prior to the car parks being declared safe was the replacement of the carbon monoxide systems.  These systems not only ensure that the air quality is kept to an acceptable standard, but also help to keep the operating costs of the building under control and minimise the carbon footprint.

With our head office located in Brisbane, Control Equipment was well positioned to direct our Service Engineers to carry out these repairs.  As we maintain adequate stock levels we were able to complete these jobs in a minimal time frame, and assist with getting the city back on its feet. On behalf of everyone here at Control Equipment, our thoughts are with everyone who was affected by the Brisbane Floods and we are working hard to work through all our services and repairs as quick as possible. Gas detection equipment is vitally important in the safety of many individuals. If you have been affected by the Brisbane floods and need your equipment serviced or repaired contact us as soon as possible.

Stay safe everyone, we have you all in our thoughts!
